Being an author requires so much more than writing. I am often asked, “How do you write a book?” And my answer is almost always the same. The best way to write a book is to WRITE. That will remain true until the end of time. It is the hardest part, but the most necessary.
However, if you want to talk about being an author, please schedule a meeting with me and I can download you on the positives and negatives. Check out my blog post Things The Books Don’t Tell You! There is so much for authors to remember to do. Some tasks are recommended, like setting up a website. Others are required, like hiring an editor. Some things bring you stress and pain, like formatting in Microsoft Word. Others bring you joy, like doing a photoshoot with your books.
For me, getting new professional headshots was required. My current professional high-resolution photos were about 10 years old and do not represent the proud Indie Author I am now. I would like to publicly thank A Flash Forever Photography for the professional and fun photoshoot. I was so nervous I would not look serious enough, but what I learned during the process is that I should have a little fun and be my relaxed self.
I love the final product and I look forward to using the pictures as I continue to promote my newest book Cherrywood Inn: A Legacy
