Tanela Hicks wife, mother, librarian, and oh yeah writer.

I have always been a dreamer and in the summer of 2010, I decided to write down a portion of a dream. That dream, which was more of a nightmare helped form what is now my first completed novel project Dreams of the Heart. I have since gone on to write many more short stories and magazine articles. My second novel Twin Souls: A Blue Moon Novel allowed me to cut my chops on fantasy storytelling.

My latest novel Cherrywood Inn: A Legacy explores grief, love, and determination to create your own path. I am so excited for the world to read this story. I believe that love can be healing and I pray for all who read it to finish with full hearts.

It took a long time for me to decide that I was a writer. I thought that my daydreaming and daily whimsy was something I just did to pass the time. But with the encouragement of my husband, children, family, and friends; I realized that my daydreaming and imagination were interesting, inspiring, and funny. I truly enjoy the act of Dreaming, Creating, and Inspiring.

My stories thus far have been fictional reality. As strange as it may seem, the characters I have created are as much a part of me as the family and friends surrounding me every day. As these characters become real to me, my wish is that they become loved by my readers. Through my writing, I have discovered myself and that breakthrough alone has been worth the ride. Come join me!

Wonderful Story. Read this for B.E.W. Book Club. Ms. Cross is a local author and we had the fun chance to meet with her in person and discuss this drama-filled story. If you are in the mood for a raw, urban, drama-filled sisterhood story…
